bendi : Designing for sustainability

CREATIVE BRAND MANAGER & DIGITAL DESIGNER  Logo Design, Brand Identity, Social, Online, Animation
Working remotely from NYC with an incredible team based in London during the global pandemic, I was responsible for the complete design, execution, and management of all creative output for fashion sustainability tech start-up bendi. (bendi.ai)

I was brought on board to build the brand from scratch, creating the visual language that brought a conceptual research deck to life, and helped bendi win a £100k INNOVATE UK 2020 grant. As the sole designer on the team, I continued to expand on these designs across the bendi universe over the next year, including their website, social media, and dedicated blog, until together we won the Home Grown Greenshoots Residency in 2021.

bendi & social media
Although bendi now exists as a b2b service, originally we were marketing directly to the public. That meant we needed engaging, noticeable designs that stand out amongst the chaos of the infinite scroll.

Based on mood boards from the founders of bendi, I created a visual language that was extremely graphic, colorful, and “cheeky”, as  requested, to match the mood of the brand voice being developed.

bendi makes a splash
Originally the bendi site was consumer facing, and I designed the splash headers used across the website and social channels.

the bendi blog
In addition to creating the technology, bendi was interested in joining the conversation around fashion sustainability as a whole, and thus created the bendi blog and the bendi newsletter. Each week I created related visual content to accompany this.

bendi world: a monthly newsletter

Sharing content from the blog, updating consumers on the product, and engaging in direct conversations with users came in the form of bendi world.

I created a slightly different aesthetic for this vertical, as there was a lot of text and information each month, so a subtler, adaptable vector style accompanied each letter.

These designs changed with each letter to reflect the topics addressed.
